Bearfoot fue una banda post-bluegrass que se formó en Alaska en 1999 como Bearfoot Bluegrass. La banda original de Alaska compitió y ganó el 26º concurso anual de bandas Telluride Bluegrass en 2001, y regresó al año siguiente para actuar en el Festival Telluride Bluegrass. Más tarde cambiaron su nombre a Bearfoot a medida que su música evolucionó para incluir pop americano, post-bluegrass y basado en instrumentos de cuerda.
