Una guerra sagrada, de la mitología antigua, donde la diosa Athena y Hades han luchado el uno contra el otro mientras defendían la tierra repetidamente por el paso de 200 años. La historia toma lugar en Europa, 243 años antes del "Saint Seiya" original. Tres pequeños niños, Tenma, Alone y Sasha han compartido una muy feliz niñez juntos. Tenma que es bastante agresivo pero ejemplar se ha mudado al Santuario para convertirse en un santo. Es ahí donde se reúne con Sasha que es la hermana de Alone y sucede que ella es la reencarnación de la diosa Athena. Alone que es amable, gentil y ama pintar, fue elegido por el cuerpo del enemigo, Rey Hades. Tenma eventualmente se convierte en el Santo de Pegaso y enfrenta en fiera batalla a su mejor amigo Alone, el Rey de Hades. Tenma el Pegaso, el Rey Hades y la diosa Athena, y a través del giro de sus destinos unidos que desarrollará el prólogo del "Saint Seiya" original.
