Procedentes de extremos opuestos de las montañas Apalaches, Zoe & Cloyd son la reconocida violinista y vocalista Natalya Zoe Weinstein y el galardonado compositor, multiinstrumentista y vocalista John Cloyd Miller. Su espectáculo es tan diverso como su educación: proveniente de un linaje de músicos klezmer y jazz, Natalya se formó de manera clásica en su estado natal de Massachusetts antes de mudarse al sur en 2004. John, un caroliniano de duodécima generación de Carolina del Norte y nieto del pionero violinista de bluegrass, Jim Shumate , es un ganador del primer lugar del prestigioso concurso de composición de canciones de Chris Austin, así como una beca de artista para la composición de canciones del Consejo de las Artes de Carolina del Norte.
