Jessica "Jesca" Ada Hoop (nacida el 21 de abril de 1975 en Santa Rosa, California ) es una cantautora y guitarrista estadounidense , que escribe y se desempeña en diversos estilos musicales. Ella ha lanzado cinco álbumes del estudio propios, así como los álbumes vivos, acústicos y dobles con otros artistas.
Mientras estuvo creando música desde que era una adolescente, ser una guía de supervivencia le dio a Hoop el "espacio mental para escribir mientras trabajaba". Hacia el año 2000, Hoop se había mudado a Los Ángeles, donde se convirtió en una niñera de los niños de Tom Waits . Él y su esposa Kathleen Brennan se convirtieron en instrumental en el desarrollo de su carrera y la puso en contacto con su editor de música Lionel Conway. Su empresa le dio un contrato de publicación y "un avance, algo para vivir y ayudar a desarrollar". Conway envió una demo de la canción "Seed of Wonder" al DJ Nic Harcourt, quien comenzó a tocar la canción en Morning Becomes Eclectic en KCRW, convirtiéndose en una de las canciones más solicitadas en el programa y creando un interés considerable en los demostraciones vivas acústicas .Hoop había comenzado a tocar alrededor de Los Ángeles.
